elected county treasurer and the family moved to Decorah. Henry and Mary Yager had come to Winneshiek Co. from Ohio in 1857. Robert and Lillian had 6 children, all born in Decorah: Henry, Stanley, Irene, Charles, Warren and Sidney. Henry Arthur (b. 24 Jan 1895) married Lottie Diantha Olson 20 Sep 1916. He died 15 Jun 1967 in Decorah. Stanley Albert (b. 17 Dec 1896) married Catherine (last name unknown). He died 22 Nov 1970 in Sister Bay, Wl. Irene Lillian, born 20 May 1899; died of pneumonia 6 Mar 1902. Charles Edward fb. 12 Oct 1901) married Helen (last name unknown). Later married Lucile Brickner. He died 29 Dec 1983 in Decorah. Warren Robert fb. 6 Apr 1904) married Kathryn Woodbridge 12 Jun 1937. He died 28 Sep 1991 in Fullerton, CA. Sidney Lester (b. 14 Jun 1906) married Susanne Morrow 9 Feb 1935 and later married Ailene (last name unknown). He died 11 Jun 1989 in West Palm Beach, FL. In the 1890’s Robert built a house on Center Street in Decorah where he and his wife raised their family and lived the rest of their lives. They owned a sizable piece of land around their home, some of which is owned today by nearby Luther College. The house still stands today at 606 Center Street. On 1 Oct 1932 Lillian suffered a stroke and died soon thereafter on 6 Oct 1932 at 6:45 A.M. Robert passed away 3 years later on 13 Nov 1935. Both Robert and Lillian are buried in Phelps Cemetery in Decorah. Price, William and Cindy (Chiou-Hsin Lee)(William B. Price) William Boyd Price was born in Decorah, Winneshiek Co., IA, the second son and youngest child of Daniel Arthur 'Art” and Ruth (Krumm) Price of Decorah, formerly of near Burr Oak. Daniel was a farmer in the Burr Oak area nearly 50 years and Ruth was well-known as a junior high school teacher in Decorah. Both Art and Ruth are descended from early Winneshiek Co. pioneers. Art is a great-grandson of Daniel Price who arrived in Winneshiek Co. in 1855. Ruth is a great-granddaughter of the second settler in the county, Gottlob Krumm, who arrived here in 1848. William attended grade school in Burr Oak #8, the “Lost Nation" school, from 1955 to 1960, after which he began attending school in Decorah. He graduated from Thomas Roberts Senior High School 23 May 1967. In the fall of 1967 William began studying at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls where he graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in German in Jan 1972. In the summer of 1972 he joined the U.S. Air Force and served as a Russian linguist in the 6912th Security Squadron of the USAF Security Service in West Berlin, Germany from Apr 1973 to Apr 1976. After his discharge from the service he remained in Berlin for 2 1/2 years teaching English at the Berlitz School. In 1978 William moved to Anaheim, CA where he attended a small seminary for one year and then worked in the school library for an additional year. From 1980 to 1982 he taught English to Asian refugees at Santa Ana College, at the same time training to become a computer programmer. William began working as a computer programmer at Robertshaw Controls Company in Long Beach, CA in May 1982. In 1984 he obtained a similar position at Yamaha Motor Corporation in Cypress, CA and since 1989 he has been working as a programmer-analyst at Wyle Electronics in Irvine, Ca. William, Cindy and Nicole Price On 11 Jun 1988 William married Cindy Chiou-Hsin Lee, a native of Taipei, Taiwan, the youngest daughter of Li Pi-Ch'uan and Chiang Chao-Chih of Taipei. Cindy was born in Taipei. William and Cindy first made their home in Anaheim, CA where they lived a short while before purchasing a home in Fullerton. In 1991 they bought a home in Mission Viejo, CA where they have been living for the past 4 years. They have one daughter Nicole Lee born in Anaheim. William has had 2 life-long pursuits: chess and foreign languages. He began playing chess at the age of 8 and during his high school years participated in various state tournaments in IA and MN. In Apr 1967 he tied for second place in the Junior Chess Championship of the state of IA. William is fluent in German, Russian and Chinese and reads several other languages.
